Different Ways to Get Involved and Make a Difference wih WE-ACTx:Donate:
Volunteer Opportunities
WE-ACTx’s global treatment access initiative is working to implement rapid HIV care in Rwanda for survivors of genocidal rape. We hope to treat 30,000 women in the coming three years and to do so, we need a lot of help from individuals. WE-ACTx is recruiting help from volunteer doctors, scientists, activists and ordinary global citizens who want to make a difference for women and children facing AIDS.
WE-ACTx Medical Corps
WE-ACTx is actively recruiting HIV experts who are doctors, physician’s assistants and nurses, including gynecologists and pediatricians with HIV experience, to work in Rwandan clinics to treat HIV-positive women, girls and children. Interested individuals must show proof of HIV training and speak high school French, Kinyarwanda or Swahili. WE-ACTx will cover airfare, housing and shared food for volunteers. Future opportunities for English-only individuals are likely to arise so keep checking if you are interested.
All inquiries and credentials should be sent to Dr. Kathy Anastos at: kanastos@verizon.net
Research, Writing and Translation
WE-ACTx is soliciting help from individuals who have these skills: fundraising and grant writing, online library or research skills; translation into French, Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages. WE-ACTx can also use help from students and has other small time-based projects that require individuals who can make telephone calls or access the Internet.
